St Andrew’s day celebrations, November  2016

Leicester Caledonian Society members and friends again celebrated St Andrew’s day with a morning service at St Stephen’s UR Church, Leicester on Sunday 27th November 2016 lead by Rev Lynn Fowkes. There was a good turnout of members with several kilts on view. The day coincided with the first Sunday in Advent and the service reflected this.

Readings were made by Hugh Mackay and Murdo Ferrier.

The service was followed by a private three course lunch at the Belmont hotel for 49 members and guests with honorary
piper Carl Wilkinson piping us into lunch. The toast to St Andrew was proposed by President Murdo Ferrier.

The general reaction was that this was the best celebration for some time.
